„ibid. 30 Positions in Contemporary Painting“

The title ibid.—an abbreviation of the Latin ibidem, meaning “in the same place”—points to a shared point of departure: the time the participating artists have spent over the past fifteen years at the Defet Studio and Gallery House in Nuremberg as recipients of the Marianne Defet Painting Fellowship.
Through their encounters with the city, its architecture, its people, and its histories, each artist developed a distinct dialogue that continues to resonate in their work. Bringing these voices together, the exhibition creates a collective space of resonance while offering a forward-looking glimpse into contemporary painting.
